Can you take an electric breast pump on a plane?

Brooke S asked:

We are taking a flight on saturday. I was wondering if anyone has tried to take an electric pump on a plane. It would be better if I could so I could pump between flights. Thanks!

You can, but I would call the airline first, and arrive early for security, because they are going to inspect it like crazy.
Same with a nebulizer or any other electronic medical device.
You may be better off with a manual for between flights, and pack the electric, to avoid the hassle.

I did on American Airlines just last month. I had no problems at all and it caused me no extra time at security.
