The answer is yes, absolutely. In fact, many of the top brands including Medela make hospital grade pumps and sell them to the public. Examples of the Medela hospital grade ones are the Symphony and the Lactina. They work exceptionally well and are very fast.

There are two main problems with these types of pumps, however. One, they are very expensive. Many moms have a hard time justifying the cost – especially with the new expenses that come along with the birth of a new baby.
